She won't be a baby much longer...

Now that Emily has been cutting her molars she has found comfort in some old "friends" that she hasn't used since she was a little baby. When Emily was first born she'd suck on her pacifier, but she couldn't keep it in on her own and she weened herself from it by 3 months. Now, 8 months later, she is absolutely in love with her paci. She doesn't suck on it-she chews on it, so it's always in upside down or off in the corner of her mouth and you can her a little "squeaky-squeaky" where ever she is because of her little teeth rubbing on it...it must feel so good on those little teeth and gums!

She has also become quite fond of our Snugli carrier. She liked it when she was younger, but then got to a point where she didn't like being confined in it. This molar has been so painful for her and she just wants to be held all the time, but she won't let me sit and snuggle her. I have to be standing. So the Snugli has come in quite handy the past few days because she can feel held and comforted, but I can get things done at the same time. I'm sure this phase will soon pass, but I'm enjoying these moments when she can feel like my tiny baby again. I can't believe she'll be a year old in just a matter of weeks. She's growing up way too fast!

Emily is WALKING! Emily took her first steps in the first part of October, but she could only take a couple steps at a time. Now she can walk across the whole living room, which is pretty big. She starts going faster than her little legs can take her, then goes even faster to keep her balance and then falls down and continues crawling because it's quicker that way.

It is so entertaining to watch Emily play; she's better than tv! She likes to flip through books, bang toys together, hug her care bear, open and close doors and last night she made a hat out of a bucket. Steve and I just sat and watched her put it on and take it off. It has been so fun for us to watch her grow and develop and continue with each new stage of life. I absolutely love being a mom and Steve absolutely loves being a dad. There's nothing better.
